Eyelash tinting, otherwise known as the lash tint procedure, is one of the newest trends to hit the aesthetics industry in recent years. Along with other areas of the permanent makeup industry, eyelash tinting, microblading, eyelash extensions, are all methods for women (and even men), to improve their look, using all the benefits of makeup, without the need for daily reapplication.
Eyelash tinting is essentially a means of dying your eyelashes, providing your eyes added definition, allowing you to without eye makeup like mascara for months at a time.
How Eyelash Tinting Works?
The process is fairly simple. Eyelash tinting begins with the application of a protective cream, sometimes Vaseline, beneath the eyes. This prevents the skin from getting stained by the dye. A thin cotton pad is then placed over the cream, creating a protective covering beneath the eyes.
Using a fine brush, the dye, or tint is then applied to the lashes, and it is left for around 10 minutes.
Slowly, with a damp cloth, we will begin to remove the excess dye along the eyelashes. When the excess dye has been removed, and any staining of the skin washed away, the process is complete.
Results
Clients should expect to have darker, more prominent eyelashes. This added tint along the lashes give the eyes a very alluring, eye-catching aesthetic – drawing onlookers into your gaze!
Side Effects & Precautions
The procedure is 100% non-invasive, and patients shouldn’t expect any side effects at all. The dye will generally dry soon after application, however patients are advised not to take part in any exercise or strenuous activities immediately after – this may allow sweat to bead over the eyelashes and cause the dye to run and for your results to be far worse than they normally would be.
One precaution we recommend is that patients, identify any and ALL allergies they may have. Despite being extremely rare, certain patients have been known to experience an allergic reaction to chemical compounds within common dyes.
